KMCC CLUB RULES

(Revised January, 2007)

The Kettle Moraine Curling Club exists for the use and enjoyment of its members and their guests. Club members shall be responsible for their guests at all times. Be considerate of all members. Remember to keep the noise level tolerable for other club patrons.

PERSONAL PROPERTY: The club shall not be responsible for the personal property of its members or their guests, whether left in lockers or other areas of the club.

DAMAGES: Damage to the Club's property, or damage to the property of the other members or guests, must be paid for by the party or parties responsible for the damage.

HOUSEKEEPING: Proper housekeeping of the Club’s facilities is completely dependent upon the cooperative efforts of all members. All members are to clean up after themselves. A good rule of thumb is to leave the club cleaner then when you arrived. The items listed below are to help keep our club a great place to hang out, and to have a ‘roaring’ good time both on and off the ice.
KITCHEN AREA: All members are to verify that the following items have been completed before you they leave the clubhouse.
  • All dishes, pots, pans and silverware used should be washed, dried and put away by the members who used them.
  • All used glassware is rinsed out and loaded into the glass washer tray. When a tray is full, put it into the glass washer, and turn on. Be sure to turn off the power switch on the glass-washer at the end of the cycle. (The wash cycle is only 3 minutes on the new glass-washer.)
  • All counters, the butcher block and serving tables are to be wiped down with soap and water.
  • If the stove was used, be sure all burners and the oven are turned off, and the top has been wiped down.
  • If the grill was used, make sure it and the exhaust fan are turned off, and that the counter tops around it are cleared of all items used. Please turn off the main gas valve behind the grill.
  • All food is put away, taken home or dumped.
  • The wash and rinse bins are empty and rinsed out.
  • The sinks are rinsed out and wiped down.
  • The strainers (the big colander and the drain traps) are emptied into the garbage and rinsed out.
  • The garbage has been taken out. Remember there are three garbage cans: two in the kitchen and one on the other side of the bar. Replace the garbage can liners.
  • Any towels that are damp or wet have been laid out to dry. Dry, dirty towels should be placed in the hamper. If you have the time, take the dirty towels home. Wash, dry and bring them back the next time you return to the club.
  • WARMING HOUSE AREA:
  • Wipe down your table.
  • Clean up around your table and the surrounding area, including throwing away used paper products and empty containers and bottles.
  • Push the chairs in around your table.
  • Stereo music should be set at a background volume level only.
  • Replace all paper products when you have used the last of it (Kleenex, paper towels, toilet tissue).
  • IF YOU ARE THE LAST CURLER OR GROUP OF CURLERS TO LEAVE:
  • Make sure all the lights are off.
  • The ones out on the ice (circuit breakers)
  • The spot lights in kitchen (to right of freezer)
  • Lights over the kitchen sink (just above the sink)
  • Canopy lights in kitchen (by back door)
  • Lights in the Trophy case (just right of the trophy case)
  • Men’s bathroom lights (just to the left of the door)
  • Women’s bathroom lights (just to the right of the door)
  • Lights above the tables (turn off the light switches by the circuit breakers and then the circuit breakers)
  • Club house lights (just to the left as you’re leaving of the 1str door out)
  • Entry way lights (just to the left of the outside door)
  • TV circuit
  • Make sure the grill and oven have been turned off, as well as the grill fan.
  • Dump out the ice buckets. Make sure the lids are not on tight so they can air dry.
  • Make sure the garbage has been taken out. Mice are everyone’s problem.
  • And finally: PLEASE MAKE SURE THE DOOR IS LOCKED.
  • SMOKING:The Club house has been voted a Non Smoking facility.  When smoking outside of the building, be sure to extinguish butts and deposit them in the available repository.

CHILDREN:Children and young adults under the age of 21 are allowed in the club only when adult supervision is available.

ICE AREA: Members are reminded that food and beverages are not permitted in the Ice Area of the Club. Water bottles if capped are permitted. Only clean curling shoes (not street shoes) shall be worn on the ice. Remember: clean ice is fast ice.

ICE CONTROL: Members should never tamper with any of the ice equipment or its controls. If anything appears to be out of order, or is in need of adjustments or correction, please contact a member of the Ice Committee immediately.

PETS: All pets are restricted from the entire club area.

SPECIAL CLUB USE: Members must obtain prior BOARD APPROVAL for any special use of Club facilities or equipment. Ask any Board member for information.

REMEMBER: This is our home away from home. Be considerate of other members at all times.
