KMCC MEN'S PLAYDOWN RULES
I.
SIGN-UP & PLAYDOWN SCHEDULE
Ø
A
sheet to sign up for the bonspiel will be posted by the second Wednesday
session, at the beginning of each curling session.
Ø
The
sign-up sheet will be taken down on the Wednesday prior to the Christmas break,
after the second draw of that Wednesday begins.
Ø
The
Playdown Drawsheet will be posted on the Wednesday prior to the Christmas
break.
Ø
All
games must be completed by the third Thursday in February. There will be no
exceptions.
Ø
KMCC
will have 4 spots in the Bonspiel; one spot for the previous year's Biersach
round-robin winner and the 3 playdown spots. If a KMCC rink wins the Bonspiel,
they receive an automatic spot for the subsequent year, as does that year's
Biersach winner, allowing for 2 playdown spots. In the event that the previous
year's Biersach winner does not meet eligibility requirements, 3 spots will be
open. When none of the above occurs, 4 spots will be open for the playdown. In
any event, the number of spots available will be indicated on the sign-up
sheet.
II.
LEGAL RINK
Ø
A
legal playdown rink will consist of four KMCC members. All four names must
appear on the sign-up sheet.
Ø
An
individual may only be on one playdown rink.
Ø
A
legal game consists of two, four person rinks.
Ø
All
members of the previous year's Biersach winner are to be a part of the Bonspiel
to be eligible, unless they are no longer members of KMCC. There will be a 2
man minimum.
Ø
In
case of injury during the game, a three-person rink may finish the game as long
as all four members of the rink have delivered at least one stone each.
III.
SUBSTUTITION
Ø No substitution is permitted
on a playdown rink. In case of emergency, and with the permission of a member
of the Bonspiel Committee, a member of a playdown rink may be replaced by a new
member. The new member must then participate in the event.
IV.
RULES & SCHEDULE ADHERENCE
Ø Any rink removing itself
from the playdown after the drawsheet has been posted, or forfeiting a
game either voluntarily, or due to rules infringement, will need Committee approval
to enter the playdown the next year.
Ø Playdown games will follow
the Bonspiel games rules, i.e. 10 end games and free guard zone.
Ø Unless accepted above,
prevailing USCA rules shall apply.
Ø Any and all exceptions must
be approved by the Bonspiel Committee. Any infractions of the above rules will
result in a one year suspension of eligibility to participate in the Men's
Bonspiel for all members of that rink.
